What exactly happens at a NotWork session?
Each NotWork experience is a bit different, but they all center around group creative prompts and activities designed to spark your imagination in unexpected ways. Sessions could involve collaborative storytelling, improvised art-making, problem-solving through creative formats like sketching or acts, and much more. The core philosophy is providing a totally judgment-free space to unleash your wildest ideas through play.

Where and when do sessions take place?
We host sessions both virtually over Zoom and in-person in the Los Angeles area. Virtual sessions are typically 30-60 minutes on weekday evenings. Check out our events page.

Who leads the NotWork sessions?
What are their credentials? All NotWork experiences are guided by our crew of "Creative Instigators" - artists, performers, designers and facilitators specifically trained to inspire uninhibited creative expression. Get to know them in our About Us page

What if I'm not artistic?
NotWork is for everyone! Our sessions focus on the joy of creating, not the end result. You don't need any artistic skills—just a willingness to play and explore.
-
Are there any prep materials I need before attending?
Just an open mind! We'll provide all the prompt details and any minimal supplies needed. But we definitely encourage bringing your own favorite art tools if you have them.
-
What if I get stuck or don't like my creation?
That's part of the process! Our facilitators are there to gently guide you, and often the most profound insights come from embracing the "mistakes." Remember, at NotWork, there's no such thing as failure—only unexpected plot twists!
